Zehan Shang

Zehan Shang is an industrial designer and researcher exploring the intersections between traditional crafts and contemporary design. He gets his both Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Product Design from Politecnico di Milano.

His research focuses on how advanced manufacturing technologies can be integrated with traditional craftsmanship—without compromising its cultural spirit to foster innovation.

Currently developing studies on hybrid craft practices, he investigates how design can sustain and reinterpret local traditions within global contexts. At MADEC, he contributes to research on craft-based material culture and supports the center’s digital communication through content updates and maintenance of the MADEC website.
